Why you should replace your old lead pipes ?

What is moling?
Moling is a soil displacement technique used for underground pipe installations. A compact pneumatic device drives new or replacement pipes through the soil with minimal disturbance at ground level and is ideal for use under driveways, roads, paths, patios, parks and golf courses, for example.
It is a cost effective alternative to the ‘open cut’, or ‘continuous trench’, method traditionally used in sub surface ground works.

How does it work?
Driven by compressed air, a soil displacement hammer (the mole) forces its way through the ground compacting and displacing the soil rather than removing it. In most cases, two pits are excavated, one to launch the mole and one to receive it. After the immediate area is checked for underground services that may cause an obstruction, the mole is accurately positioned in to travel a pre-set path through the soil from the launch pit. The action of the mole creates a cavity underground, through which the pipe is pulled, and emerges in the reception pit. This method can be used in most ground conditions including soil, clay and rock.
